MFT WSC 374 - Slow Down and Enjoy Your day

Hello! It's time for a new Wednesday Sketch Challange at My Favorite Things. For today, I played with the adorable Sweet Sloths stamp set and coordinating dies.

My card inspired by the sketch:

Sketch 374:

To begin, I stamped the images using Gray Cement Hybrid Ink for a no-line coloring with Copics. I went over the eyes, noses, and mouths with a brown Copic Multiliner. I added extra details with a white gel pen. After I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies.

I made the yellow cloud panel using the Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and the Mini Cloud Stencil.

I created the white frame using 2 of the rectangle dies from the A2 Rectangle Stax Set 1 - Dienamics.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder and cut it out with a die from Hearts in a Row - Horizontal Dienamics.

To assemble the card, I adhered the trimmed pattern leaf paper from Fun and Frolic Paper Pack to an A2 sized card base and adhered the cloud panel on top. After I mounted the frame and the sentiment with foam tape. To finish, I mounted the sloths with foam tape as well.

Tea With Friends - Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight

Hi there! Welcome to the last Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight featuring the February release. Today, the design team is sharing projects made with another really adorable set, Tea With Friends and coordinating Tea with Friends Creative Cuts.

To begin, I stamped the images from Tea With Friends and colored it with Copics. I used a white gel pen to add extra details. I cut them out with coordinating dies.

To make the background panel, I distressed an A2 sized Bristol cardstock with Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose Distress Inks. I spritzed it with water and patted dry with paper towel. I stamped and embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

To create a scene, I added a bush panel that I made by die-cutting green cardstock with the cloud border die from Landscape Trio Creative Cuts.

I made the sidewalk panel with trimmed natural cardstock. I added more color and splatters using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The clouds were die-cut with the cloud dies from On The Hills Creative Cuts.

To finish, I adhered all the panels and mounted the images with foam tape as shown.

To begin, I stamped the images from Picnic With Friends and colored them with Copics on smooth white cardstock. I cut them out with the coordinating dies. I created the background scene using Copics and added some details with Prismacolor Pencils. It's my first time creating an entire background with Copics. What do you think? :)

To the card front, I stamped the sentiment from the set and embossed it with silver embossing powder. Then, I adhered the images with foam tape. I mounted the panel to an A2 sized card base.

Little Bunny Agenda - Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight

Hello! I'm back with the second Stamp Highlight for Mama Elephant's February Release. We're showcasing the Little Bunny Agenda stamp set and the coordinating Little Bunny Agenda Creative Cuts.

I have two cards to share today, for the first one I combined the  Little Bunny Agenda with the Inside Pop Fence Creative Cuts. Let's take a look!

Outside of the card:

Inside of the card:

In addition to the little bunnies, I decided to add a bunny that's bigger from the Party Animals stamp set. In the original stamp this bunny wears a party hat. This is how I removed the hat from the image. I covered the hat portion of the stamp with washi tape, inked the stamp, removed the tape and stamped the paper. I filled in any missing lines with a Copic liner. I also added a flower for the bunny to hold from The Bunny's Hop set. I stamped the rest of the little bunnies, colored all the images with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

For the front panel, I die-cut light blue cardstock with the frame die from Peek A-Frame CreativeCuts. I stamped the sentiment from Tandem Extras with black ink. I added the die-cut grass panel that I made using the Grassy Trio Creative Cuts. I also added the die-cut clouds I made with On The Hills Creative Cuts. The flowers on the grass was made using the flower die from Inside Pop Fence Creative Cuts.

I lined the inside of the card with green card stock. I die-cut the rest of the elements as shown using the Inside Pop Fence Creative Cuts.  Click  HERE  to watch a video on how to assemble the Inside Pop Fence Creative Cuts. To finish, I glued on the bunnies (the bunny with the balloon is attached to a thin strip of acetate) to create my scene.

For my second card, I distressed A2 sized smooth Bristol paper with Distress Inks. Then, I die-cut it with the Grid Window Creative Cuts. On a white panel, I adhered the negative squares (using the die-cut frame as a guide). Then, I adhered the frame that was left from die-cutting the frame and adhered it to a top folding card base for a matching colored border.

I stamped the bunnies with light gray Copic friendly ink and colored them with Copics. I cut them out with the coordinating dies. To finish, I mounted the bunnies to the card front as shown.

Happy Birthday - MFT WSC 373

Hello there! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Sketch Challenge 373 at My Favorite Things.

Here's my card inspired by the sketch:

New sketch 373:

As you can see, I didn't deviate from the sketch much. The circle element is just slightly bigger on my card.

To begin, I made the rainbow cloud background panel using Premium Dye Inks with the Mini Cloud Stencil using finger daubers.

For the front panel, I trimmed the cardstock as shown in the sketch and die-cut the circle with Circle STAX Set 2 - Dienamics.

On a strip of vellum paper, I stamped the sentiment "Happy Birthday" from the Party Animals set and embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder. I placed the vellum in the middle of the circle and adhered to the back of the front panel.

I adhered the front panel on top of the background panel.

I combined several different stamps for the images in the front and colored them with Copics. I used Party Animals stamp set for the balloons. The three bears are from Snuggle Bunnies and Somebunny I love stamp sets. The cloud the little bear is sitting on is from the Spring Scene Builder -  Dienamics. To finish, I mounted all the images on the card front.

The Bunny's Hop - Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight

Hello and welcome to the first Stamp Highlight for Mama Elephant's February Release. We're showcasing the The Bunny's Hop stamp set and the coordinating The Bunny's Hop Creative Cuts. These herd of bunnies will make great cards for many occasions and will brighten anyone's day!

For today, I made an almost one layer, A2 sized, colorful easter card. Coloring the adorable bunnies and their accessories was so much fun!!

To begin, I stamped the images from the The Bunny's Hop with light grey copic friendly ink on Bristol Paper. I colored them with Copics first and added fuzzy texture with coordinating Prismacolor Pencils. I added more texture and highlights with a white gel pen.

To create the sky, I masked just the top portion of the images and blended it with Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers. I started off darker on the top and went lighter as I went down towards the images. I covered the bunnies and spritzed it with water to add texture.

I die-cut the sentiment "Happy Easter" using the dies that's included in the The Bunnys Hop Creative Cuts.  I inked the die-cut with Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Inks as shown. To finish, I glued on the sentiment to the front panel.

Hello Friend - Pretty Pink Posh

Happy Saturday! I'm stopping by today to share a friendship card I made using products from Pretty Pink Posh. It features two gorgeous stamp sets, Hummingbird Thanks and Wild Rose.

To begin, I stamped the images with gray ink and colored them with Copics. I added details with a thin white gel pen and brown Copic Multiliner. I cut out the images with the coordinating Wild Rose Dies and Hummingbird Thanks Dies

I distressed the front panel with Bundled Sage, Old Paper, and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. I spritzed it with water to add texture.

I adhered the two smaller flowers with adhesive and glued on the die-cut Hello Friend Script. I mounted the largest flower and hummingbird with mounting tape. I added Sparkling Clear Mix for some shine and sparkle. Lastly, I mounted the front panel to a top folding A2 sized card base.

Thanks for visiting me today! I wish you a wonderful and crafty weekend!

Mama Elephant February Stampede

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!

Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!

www.mamaelephant.com

Today, I'm sharing a pop up box card featuring the new Picnic With Friends and Picnic With Friends Creative Cuts. The illustrations are so sweet and adorable, it's impossible not to love this set.

To begin, I stamped and colored the images from Picnic With Friends and the birds from Tea With Friends with Copics. I cut them out with the coordinating creative cuts. I stamped sentiment with black ink on white cardstock and cut them out and added trimmed blue card stock behind it.

I made a box card that folds flat to 5 1/2 " x 4 1/4 and fits in an A2 envelope.

I created the inserts for the box with Borderlines Trio Creative Cuts. I added die-cut grass to the front and the sides using the Grassy Trio Creative Cuts. I ink blended the clouds on the back panel with an acetate stencil I made using the cloud border from Landscape Trio Creative Cuts.

I glued down the images to the box card as shown. Two of the flying birds are attached to a strip of thin acetate and then to the box. The sentiment was mounted with foam tape. That's it for today.

Here's a quick video of me opening the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day!

MFT - The Birthday Project Challenge

Hello there! I'm back with a new The Birthday Project challenge from My Favorite Things that rolled out last month.

The Birthday Project challenge will be posted on the third Thursday of the month and feature ideas for getting creative with your birthday card making. Enter the monthly challenge for a chance to win a $50 MFT gift voucher!

This month we're focusing on balloons. You can add a single balloon or cover your entire card with it. I had so much fun with this challenge that I couldn't stop after making one card, so I have two cards to share with you using the same supplies.

To begin, I stamped the images on a Blending Card. I colored them with Copics and cut them out with coordinating dies.

To created the front panels for both cards, I die-cut acetate to make balloon stencils with two of the balloon dies from Ballon Stax Die-namics. I stenciled in the balloons with various Premium Dye Inks on the panels as shown.  (listed on link deli)

The sentiment "Celebrate" was embossed with silver embossing powder and "It's Your Birthday" with black ink in both cards.

To finish the first card, I mounted the four monsters with mounting tape. For the second card, I added a die-cut balloon that I blended with a dye ink and a green monster. I wanted to make him look like he's floating up and away with the ballon. That's it for today!

details and more inspiration from the participating design team.

Thanks for visiting! Have a great day and happy cardmaking!!

MFT + Chibitronics Collaboration

Hello! For today and tomorrow, My Favorite Things and Chibitronics are partnering together to bring you a lots of  inspirations. Chibitronics offers complete kits and accessories that allows you to add lights and power to your paper crafting projects. Sounds like fun, right?! It's actually one of my favorite interactive cards to make. It never fails to WOW the recipient.

To begin, I stamped the space boy and the planet from BB Space Explorer on Neenah 110 cardstock with black ink (heavy cardstock is needed- otherwise the lights will shine through). I colored the images with Copics. On the planet, I stamped "Press Here" from the Interactive labels stamp set. The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder and cut out with a die from Lip Balm Window and Frame Die-namics.

To create my front panel, I die-cut white cardstock with the largest die from the Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics. Then, I added a peek-a-boo circle to the panel with a circle die from Starry Circle Die-namics. After, I die-cut a watercolored panel with the circular array of stars to make the backdrop.

I adhered the images to the front panel, then to an A2 sized black cardstock as shown.

Adding lights to cardmaking can be intimating at first, but the kit comes with instructions that will teach you everything you need to know. If you are a visual learner like me, there are great tutorials on Youtube.  You can start by watching Stephanie HERE.

Here's a picture of my circuitry panel (please excuse the messiness).

For this panel, I used the Chibi Lights Starter Kit, Red, Yellow, and Blue LED Chibi Circuit Stickers Mega Pack, Chibi Conductive Fabric Tape (to reinforce the copper tapes), and lastly, the Chibi Circuit Effects Stickers to make the lights twinkle.

To finish up this fun and special project, I added the front panel to the Chibi lights panel, then to an A2 sized card base.

Watch the video to see the card in action.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 372

Hi there! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fun Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things.

I used the adorable Otterly Love You stamp set along with Ocean Waves Die-namics to play along with the new sketch.

Here's my card:

New Sketch 372:

To begin, I stamped the otters with Cement Gray Hybrid Ink on a Blending Card. I colored them with Copics first and gave them fuzzy texture with Prismacolor Pencils and White Gel Pen. I darkened eyes and nose with Copic Brown Multiliner.

For the background panel, I used watercolor paper and Distress Inks and applied the ink smooshing technique to add colors . I added splatters of the same colors with a paint brush. Once dried, I stamped the sentiment with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink.

To create the front wave panels, I die-cut white cardstocks with The Ocean Waves Die-namics. I blended the panels with the same Distress Oxides as above. I added splatters of ink and water for more texture.

To assemble the card, I adhered the waves panels and the images with double-sided adhesives and mounting foam tape. To finish, I added dots of Nuvo Glitter Drops around the two otters.

Mandala Friendship Card - MFT February Release Replay

Hello and welcome to MFT February Release Replay. Today, the MFT Design Team is taking a fresh look at the recent release and sharing new and inspiring projects.

My card today features the Magical Mandala Die-namic.

To begin, I used Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks, and blending solution on White Yupo paper. Then, I die-cut it using the Magical Mandala Die-namic. I watercolored the background to match the colors of the mandala on Ranger Watercolor Paper. The sentiment "To A Beautiful Friend" is from the Splendid Swans stamp set, it was stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with gold embossing powder on white cardstock. Instead of gluing down the mandala, I used twine to keep it in place as shown. The twin was taped to the back of the watercolored panel. I mounted the card front to a top folding A2 sized note card. To finish, I mounted the sentiment and glued on some gold sequins.
