MFT AND FRIENDS -Sending You Showers of Love

Hello friends! Welcome to a new blog feature from My Favorite Things named MFT and Friends. This post will be replacing the Release Replay. In this new feature the participating design team members as well as handful of talented guest designers will be showcasing the recent release with inspiring and innovative ideas.

My card today showcases couple of great products from the April release and it includes, BB Rain or Shine , Cloud Shaker Die-namics and the Mini Raindrops Stencil.

To begin, I started with the front panel because I knew it would take time for it to dry. On trimmed with cardstock I used the Mini Raindrops Stencil and applied Nuvo Drops with a palette knife to create the dimensional rain.

I stamped the images from BB Rain or Shine and colored them with Copic markers.  I cut them out with the coordinating dies. After, I decided to change the colors of the umbrella and raincoat. So for the umbrella I stamped and colored it again, this time in rainbow colors. I cut out the umbrella with a scissor and adhered it to the original image. For the raincoat, I stamped the image on pattern paper and cut out just the coat and adhered it to the original image. I added white highlights with a gel pen.

For the green ground panel in the front, I did some simple blending with Distress Inks.

The cloud panels were actually leftovers from my previous projects.  To make the clouds, I used watercolor paper and watercolored it with Distress Inks from the reinkers and it mixed with water. Once dried, I added splatters of Copic Opaque White and die-cut them with Cloud Shaker Die-namics. I stamped the sentiment on one of the clouds and embossed it in white.

To finish, I adhered the green ground panel and cloud panels as well as the images with either double sided tape or mounting foam tapes as shown.
